That's a new one

Because I thought the kid might like to be able to spell more than four letters of her own name ...

"Okay, see these words I wrote? They say "Elizabeth Virginia Woods." Now, what is your nickname? What do we normally call you?"

"Elizabeth Virginia Woods!"

"No, I mean, what do I call you when I tell you I love you?"

"Sweet Pootie!"

I would like to go on record that I have never, not once, called her that, and neither has Jason. I've called her lots of other things, both printable and not, but that's not one of them.

Where she gets this stuff, I'll never know.

(and yes, this is an obligatory NaBloPoMo "I have to post even when I have nothing to say" post, probably the first of many this month)

She is doing very well for a three year old!! I once spent two very long years teaching a kindergartner how to spell his name and he very rarely got it in correct order. He only had four letters, no repeats!

If it weren't such a breach of privacy, I'd film her reciting her phone number and address ... turns out, almost any phone number can be sung to the tune of "Mary Had a Little Lamb," and our address worked well in "Have You Every Seen a Lassy?"

And while Liza can spell things out loud and read a little, she can't write for shit, and she shows no interest in getting better at it right now. I figure it will be like everything else, and she will completely ignore it until she knows she can do it exactly right, and then she'll be off and going.

Let's hope that's sometime before college :)
